Our Story

Fawn & Fallow was created to support women through one of the most transformative—and often undernourished—seasons of life: postpartum.

This is a sacred window of healing. A mother’s body requires deep, consistent nourishment to replenish what has been given, to support her nervous system, and to care for her baby. A well-fed mother heals more fully, feels more supported, and is better able to meet the demands of this tender season.

Yet, while meal trains are common, there is often little guidance around what truly nourishes a new mother. Many women are left relying on convenience foods or quick options during a time when nutrient-dense, thoughtfully prepared meals matter most.

Fawn & Fallow exists to fill that gap.

Through slow-prepared, deeply nourishing foods made with organic, locally sourced ingredients, we aim to provide mothers with the care, support, and sustenance they need to heal, replenish, and feel held in this season.

Meet the Founder

While awaiting my daughter’s arrival in 2024, I found myself asking how to truly prepare for the postpartum period. As a nutritionist, I began researching the physiological demands of pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding—what I discovered was both eye-opening and overwhelming.

Not knowing what to expect, I prepared as many nourishing meals as I could ahead of time. Even then, it didn’t feel like enough. In those early days, the meals I had ready—and those brought by family and friends—made a world of difference in how supported I felt.

That experience stayed with me.

I began to see a clear gap: while many people want to support new mothers, there is little understanding of what their bodies truly need during this time.

My background is rooted in this work. I hold a BS in Nutritional Sciences and an MS in Agriculture, Food, and Environment, where my graduate studies focused on culinary nutrition and the connection between agricultural practices and nutrient density. My passion for women’s health is also deeply personal—I restored my own fertility after more than six years of infertility through nutrition and lifestyle.

I am currently studying herbal medicine for women with Dr. Aviva Romm and training to become a Certified Lactation Consultant.

Fawn & Fallow was born at the intersection of these experiences—my personal journey into motherhood, my professional training, and my deep belief in the power of food to heal. I’m honored to partner with Stone Bank Farm Market to create organic, locally sourced meals that nourish both new mothers and the land they depend on.

Fallow: a season of rest—land left unsown to restore and renew its fertility.

Fawn & Fallow reflects the duality of the postpartum period: the fawn, a symbol of new life, and fallow, a season of rest and replenishment for the mother.
